HSK Chinese Language Standardized Course

China Chinese Language Standardized Examination (HSK) Introduction:
HSK is an examination for non-Chinese (including foreigners, Overseas Chinese and China minority nationalities. HSK tests the Chinese proficiency level for these non-Chinese on an international scale. HSK is being designed and prepared by Beijing Language and Culture University, Chinese Language Standardized Test Center. It consists of Chinese Language fundamental test and Chinese Language (Higher) test. HSK is being held annually in both China mainland and internationally. Examinee who have performed well and achieve the stipulate standard will receive the corresponding certificate. These certificates can be used to apply into professional learning course conducted by Universities in China, enroll into the Practical Chinese Language Certificate examinations like many post-graduate did, or use it to testify that the student had achieve certain standard in their Chinese Proficiency Language.

Course Contents:
HSK Elementary (Grade 1): for those who understand basic Chinese language; people who had attended 100-800 hours of standard Chinese education. Able to understand simple sentences, express and explain the meanings, and capable to communicate in daily living and learning aspects. Grasping around 600 commonly used words, learners are able to achieve this standard, and will be awarded Basic Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade C).

HSK Intermediate (Grade 2): for those who understand elementary or intermediate Chinese language; people who had attended 400-2,000 hours of standard Chinese education. Capable to comply with communicating in daily living, social cycle, and learning aspects. Learners will be awarded Basic Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade B).

HSK Advance (Grade 3): for those who understand a higher standard of Chinese language; people who had attended at least 3,000 hours of standard Chinese education. It is the minimum requirement to enroll into Academic, Technical, Agricultural Science and Medical Science courses in China colleges. Learners will be awarded Basic Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate, equivalent to Elementary HSK (Grade C).

HSK (Grade 4): Learners, who are capable of understanding Elementary (Intermediate) Chinese language proficiency level, will be awarded Elementary Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade B).

HSK (Grade 5): Learners, who are capable of understanding Elementary (Advance) Chinese language proficiency level, will be awarded Elementary Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade A).

HSK (Grade 6): Learners, who are capable of understanding Intermediate (Elementary) Chinese language proficiency level, will be awarded Intermediate Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate ((Grade C).

HSK (Grade 7): Learners, who are capable of understanding Intermediate (Intermediate) Chinese language proficiency level, will be awarded Intermediate Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade B).

HSK (Grade 8): Learners, who are capable of understanding Intermediate (Advance) Chinese language proficiency level, will be awarded Intermediate Chinese Language Proficiency Certificate (Grade A).

(THE ABOVE STANDARDS ARE STIPULATED BY CHINA MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, MINIMUM CHINESE LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY CRITERION FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS STUDYING CHINESE LITERACY, CHINESE HISTORY AND TRADITION CHINESE MEDICAL FACULTIES.)

HSK Chinese Language Proficiency Examination, Test Date

9 Test Date for the Year 2010 (World-wide): 15th March 2010 (Monday), 18th April 2010 (Sunday), 9th May 2010 (Sunday), 21st June 2010 (Sunday), 18th July 2010 (Sunday), 12th September 2010 (Sunday), 17th October 2010 (Sunday), 8th November 2010 (Monday), and 13th December 2010 (Monday).
Business Chinese Test (BCT) Course BCT is mainly for Non-Chinese personnel. BCT is valid for 2 years, starting from the test date itself.

Level 1: For people who are not able to communicate in Business Chinese during Business/Commercial affairs.

Level 2: For people who are able to communicate using Basic Business Chinese during Business/Commercial affairs.

Level 3: For people who could communicate effectively using Business Chinese during Business/Commercial affairs.

Level 4: For people who could communicate proficiently using Business Chinese during Business/Commercial affairs.

Level 5: For people who could communicate fluently and appropriately using Business Chinese during Business/Commercial affairs.
